Shannon Taylor LPN, FCN, CLT
Shannon is the owner of Digits Mobile Medical Footcare and is a certified foot care nurse: LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), FCN (Foot Care Nurse), and CLT (Certified Laser Technician), with a lifetime of experience when it comes to providing compassionate service and care. She was born and raised in the Cowichan Valley and attended Malaspina College.
As a preschool teacher for 18 years, she helped children with special needs integrate into the school system. As well as opening a family daycare designed to help those who required assistance fitting into a conventional group setting, bringing in specialist help where required.
Due to life changes, she went back to school to become an RCA, working at VIHA for three years. After which she returned to school attending Vancouver Island University to become an LPN, and in 2009 she returned to VIU yet again to specialize in foot care.
In 2014 she received her laser certification training at the Image Institute in Arizona under the direction of Dr. Stephen Kessler, a board-certified dermatologist with over 30 years’ experience.
In 2016 she returned to school as an instructor for Vancouver Island University, formerly Malaspina College. Shannon instructs the Nursing Foot Care Program to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses. She provides instruction in non-invasive foot care, infection control, use of equipment, specific conditions and foot care needs with a holistic approach.
A member of CAFCN (Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses), BCCNP (British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals), and MINFA (Mid-Island Nursing Foot Care Association), Shannon provides quality foot care to all her patients.
Away from work Shannon is especially fond of horses, and can often be found gardening in her home in Chemainus.
